Anne Meyn, M.Ed

Ms. Meyn is a cancer survivor, patient advocate, and community educator.  As an original member of Susan G. Komen Houston Affiliate, she has served on and chaired the Survivor Committee for the Race numerous times. Ms. Meyn serves on the steering committee for the Komen Advocates in Science and co-chairs the Patient Advocate working group for the Translational Breast Cancer Research Consortium.  She regularly attends the Breast Health Summit in Houston and is a member of the Breast Health Collaborative of Texas and a former executive committee member. Representing the Komen Education Committee, Ms. Meyn attends Health Fairs, speaking engagements at numerous companies, and radio interviews spots. Since her retirement from the Houston Independent School District, she has become more involved with several patient advocacy research programs. She was recruited to be the patient advocate for the Translational Breast Cancer Research Coalition (TBCRC) representing M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. As part of the TBCRC Endocrine Working Group, she reviews clinical trial proposals and consent forms. Ms. Meyn serves as patient advocate for Dr. Ferrari’s Department of Defense Innovator Awards. For CITO, she helps to organize the Community Engagement Program that is designed to disseminate information about physical sciences oncology and the results from CITO investigators. She also reviews press releases and educational materials for distribution.
