Dr. Li is Associate Faculty Member in the Bioenergetics Program at Houston Methodist Research Institute. Dr. Li’s research involves the development and validation of novel molecular imaging probes for better understanding and early diagnosis of cancer and neurodegenerative diseases. She was awarded the NIH Fogarty International Fellowship and spent 3 years with the PET imaging group at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering in Bethesda, MD. She received the NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence in 2006. As Co-Investigator in the CITO, Dr. Li designs and synthesizes new bioactive molecules for targeted drug delivery, based on biomechanistic rationale and structural optimization as the therapeutic agent for cancer.
