Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a heterogeneous lethal disease with large genomic variation. Dr. Lee has identified five clinically and molecularly distinct consensus subtypes, including STM (STeM) with stem cell features, CIN (Chromosome INstable) with high genomic instability and low immune activity, IMH (IMmune High) with high immune activity, BCM (Beta-Catenin with high Male predominance) with β-catenin activation, low miRNA expression, and hypomethylation, and DLP (Differentiated and Low Proliferation) with high HNF4A activity. He and his team also developed and validated a robust predictor of integrated consensus subtype with 100 genes (PICS100).
